The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, successfully organized an online workshop titled "Basics of Python for Engineering Education" on 24 May 2025. The workshop was exclusively designed for faculty members of diploma and engineering institutions, with the aim of equipping educators with foundational knowledge in Python programming, specifically tailored to engineering contexts.
The training sessions were conducted by two distinguished experts in the field: Dr. Bikramjit Goswami and Dr. Jyoti Kumar Barman. Their insightful presentations and hands-on approach made the sessions highly engaging and educational. Key topics covered in the workshop included Python syntax, data types, control structures, functions, file handling, and data visualization. The trainers also demonstrated simple, engineering-focused programming examples to bridge theory with practical application. Additionally, best practices for teaching Python effectively were discussed, providing faculty members with valuable pedagogical strategies.
The workshop was held from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM and saw enthusiastic participation from educators across various institutions. The free registration initiative encouraged widespread engagement and fostered a collaborative learning environment.
