The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), School of Technology, Assam Don Bosco University, organized an Awareness Program on Electrical Safety for the students of Classes 11 and 12 at St. Claret’s School, Borjhar, Guwahati, on 25 April 2025. The initiative aimed to promote safety consciousness among young students regarding the use of electricity in everyday life.
Dr. Sunil Deka, Assistant Professor, EEE Department, conducted an engaging and informative session covering key aspects of electrical safety, such as safe handling of appliances, avoiding electric shocks, understanding circuit breakers, and emergency measures during electrical faults. Using practical demonstrations and relatable examples, Dr. Deka successfully conveyed the importance of precautionary practices at home and in school environments.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who raised insightful questions and shared their own experiences related to electrical hazards. The program was highly appreciated by the school authorities and students alike, acknowledging the relevance and need for such awareness programs.
This outreach initiative reflects the department’s commitment to community engagement and education beyond the university, fostering a culture of safety and responsible use of technology among future generations.
