On June 11, 2022, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), School of Technology, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) hosted the fourth edition of the annual Inter College Electrical Quiz Competition (ICEQC-2022) at its Azara campus in Guwahati.
The major goal of the event was to raise awareness of Electrical and Electronics Engineering among students and to encourage them toward safe electrical practices. Twenty-one teams from various engineering colleges and universities across northeast India competed in the quiz, with six teams making it to the final round and being named after engineering and science pioneers - Tesla, Faraday, Maxwell, Bose, Kalam and Edison.
Team Faraday, which included Ms. Disha Baishya and Mr. Neelav Barman from Assam Engineering College, bagged the coveted first position award and a prize money of Rs. 5000. Team Kalam, consisting of Mr. Rishabh Dharewa and Mr. Shephave Chizo from ADBU, won the First Runners-Up prize of Rs. 3000, while team Tesla, consisting of Mr. Ravi Kumar and Mr. Rohit Das from Assam Engineering Institute, won the Second Runners-Up prize of Rs. 2000. Prof. Shakuntala Laskar, the department's head, presented certificates to all of the teams. Dr. Hironmay Deb, Assistant Professor in EEE, was the quizmaster for the event.
