EEE dept. Organizes Awareness Rally on Electrical Safety



The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Assam Don Bosco University took a proactive step towards promoting safe electrical practices by organizing an impactful Awareness Rally on Electrical Safety. The event was held on May 16, 2022, in line with the Electrical Safety Week celebration, with the objective of sensitizing the local community about the importance of adhering to safety regulations and mitigating risks associated with electrical installations.

The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, who actively engaged in spreading awareness and promoting safe electrical practices. Led by dedicated faculty members, the rally served as a platform to highlight the challenges and problems surrounding electrical safety, while emphasizing the significance of ensuring the safety of electrical installations and users of electricity.

Participants marched through the streets, carrying banners and placards that conveyed powerful messages on electrical safety. The visually striking rally aimed to capture the attention of the community and create a lasting impact on the importance of following proper safety measures in electrical systems.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Bikramjit Goswami, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, stated, "We believe that raising awareness about electrical safety is crucial for the well-being of individuals and the community at large. Our rally aimed to educate the public about the potential hazards associated with improper electrical practices and emphasize the need for adherence to safety regulations. Awareness Program on Electrical Safety for School students at St. Joseph School, Azara


The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Assam Don Bosco University organized an enlightening awareness drive on Electrical Safety for students at St. Joseph School, Azara on May 12, 2022. With a mission to promote a culture of safety, a team of experts from the department visited the school and engaged with students to educate them about the importance of electrical safety and precautionary measures.

The event witnessed the participation of 135 students from classes 10 to 12, accompanied by dedicated faculty members of St. Joseph School. The team from Assam Don Bosco University, comprising Dr. Hironmoy Deb, Mr. Jesif Ahmed, Ms. Smriti Dey, Nomal Chandra Nath, and Hemanta Kalita from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, captivated the audience with their insightful presentations.

Dr. Hironmoy Deb, a distinguished member of the department, delivered a captivating talk on the significance of electrical safety. He emphasized the need for caution while operating electrical appliances, shared essential power tool safety tips, and shed light on the importance of proper earthing and inverter safety.

The interactive session provided an opportunity for the students to actively engage with the experts, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of electrical safety. The event concluded on a positive note, with the participants leaving with enhanced knowledge and a greater appreciation for the importance of electrical safety.

Expressing his thoughts on the awareness drive, Mr. Jesif Ahmed, an Assistant Prof. at the department, stated, "We are dedicated to fostering a culture of safe electrical practices among students and equipping them with the knowledge to protect themselves from electrical hazards. Our team was delighted to visit St. Joseph School and engage with the students, empowering them with essential information on electrical safety.
