Inauguration program of PMKVY-TI

Inauguration program of PMKVY-TI took place at Assam Don Bosco University (Azara Campus) on 27th Feb 2018 for the following courses:

1. Assistant Electricity Meter Reader, Billing & Cash Collector
2. Domestic IT Helpdesk Attendant
3. Domestic Data entry Operator

Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology, a constituent unit of Assam Don Bosco University, has been selected as one of the institutes in NE region to conduct certified skill development training of unemployed youth under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY-TI). PMKVY-TI is a free skill certification course by National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) and is an initiative of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. 

The training will be held at Azara Campus of Assam Don Bosco University (Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology), Airport Road, Azara, Guwahati. 

The course of Assistant Electricity Meter Reader, Billing & Cash Collector under Power Sector, which will be conducted under the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the University from 5th March 2018. Twenty five participants have been registered for this particular course.

Industrial Visit of Mirza Substation by EEE student

The 8^th semester students of Electrical & Electronics Engineering students visited the 400/220/132 kV Mirza Substation of Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Ltd. (AEGCL) on 21^st Feb 2018. The purpose of the industrial visit was to narrow down the gap between industry and academia and to expose the students to the ongoing practices of electricity sector at industrial level. The students were accompanied by faculties of the dept.- Prof. Shakuntala Laskar and Asst. Prof. Mr. Biswajit Sengupta.
